St Andrews Golf Co. factory visit by Vloggers Matt Fryer and Danny Maude
In late May, our factory was visited by vloggers Matt Fryer and Danny Maude. Matt and Danny are hugely popular on social media and have a combined YouTube subscriber following of 700,000. Both are PGA Professionals and were absolutely fascinated to learn the history of our brands and the craftmanship and processes used to build the only authentic hickory clubs made in the world today. They then took the clubs and balls to Scotscraig Golf Club to test them out on the course.
St Andrews Golf Co. Factory Visit during Dunhill Championship
During the week of The Dunhill Championship 2023, St Andrews Tour Productions visited St Andrews Golf Company. They wanted an insight into the traditional manufacture of hickory golf clubs, to see the artisan club makers at work and to understand the importance and history of club manufacture in the Town. When trying one of our clubs on The Old Course, Golf Professional Matthew Jordan sums it up nicely when he says, “When you think of hickory clubs, you also think of St Andrews”. The two go through history hand in hand!
St Andrews Golf Co. Factory Visit by Discovery Channel
The Discovery Channel recently visited our St Andrews factory to learn how we are continuing the tradition to handcraft hickory golf clubs. We showed them step-by-step how to handcraft our wooden head 'Stag' hickory putter, and we used our simulation golf centre to compare the driving distance of a 150-year-old Long Nose club to a 100-year-old Brassie club and today's latest Modern Drivers. They were astonished at the results.
