Hickory Golf Brassie Wood by Tom Stewart
This 1920s style Tom Stewart Brassie is a beautifully handcrafted hickory golf club, featuring a shorter head, higher face, and a full brass sole plate. Some players prefer the compact, box-like head for its ability to consistently find the sweet spot, while the wrap-around brass sole plate provides added confidence when playing shots from hard ground.
The Brassie is used from the tee box, sending your ball 200 to 250 yards down the fairway in a hickory golf round. Skilled players can also use it from the fairway or light rough on longer holes. With a 14-degree loft, it's comparable to a modern 2-wood.
Custom Options: You can select a right or left-handed club, your preferred shaft flex, and have the shafts engraved with your initials, name, number, or a personal message
In golf’s early days, players used wooden Long Nose Clubs from the tee, which evolved into Transitional Clubs and later, Bulger Clubs. Made entirely of wood, club makers eventually added half or full brass sole plates, allowing for use on hard ground without damaging the club. This innovation made Brassies popular in the early 1900s, solidifying their place in hickory golf. Experience the true feel of a persimmon wood head with its distinctive 'thud' when struck on the sweet spot.
This reproduction hickory golf club is crafted based on an original from the hickory golf era and is fully compliant with all global Hickory Golf competition rules and regulations.
