The first golf irons, or 'Cleeks,' were made by master 'Cleek Makers' who stamped their unique logos on the clubheads, creating the first logos in golf. These cleek marks became symbols of quality and tradition, with legends like George Nicoll of Leven, known for his "Helping Hand" mark, and Tom Stewart of St Andrews, famed for his "Clay Pipe" cleek mark. Handmade in St Andrews, our customisable nametag allows you to carry a piece of golf history with you, wherever you play

    Tom Stewart’s story began in Carnoustie, where he worked as a blacksmith alongside his father. By 1893, Stewart had established his own business, using the now-famous pipe-brand cleekmark, a symbol of quality and craftsmanship. Today, Tom Stewart’s hickory golf clubs are celebrated for their precision and enduring craftsmanship, a true testament to his legacy.

    George Nicoll aimed to make golf more accessible, designing clubs that were easy to play with and marking them with his famous 'Hand' cleek symbol, known as 'The Helping Hand of Golf.' Ideal for beginners due to their ease of use, they also offer the precision needed for skilled players. Today, George Nicoll's hickory golf clubs are revered by hickory golfers of all levels around the world, a true testament to his legacy.
