Most cleek makers included a giant Niblick (wedge) in their product range during the 1920s.  Nicknames for this unwieldy instrument were many; the frying pan or shovel were two of the least cruel. A perfect strike was required to master this difficult tool, perhaps for this reason not many large wedges remain today. The Niblick evolved from the earlier Rut Iron. The round sole of the club made it easier for the golfer to hit a ball from a “cuppy” lie. The impressive size of these clubs makes them attractive for collecting and display.
This model is a right-handed club only.
